Family, Maternity & Couples Photography Location Guide

Once we’ve booked a date for your photography session, one of the next big decisions is choosing a location. We’ll work together to select a spot that fits your family, the season, and the overall look and feel you want for your photos.

Anne Arundel County offers a beautiful mix of waterfront scenery, wooded trails, open fields, and historic charm. As an Anne Arundel County family photographer, I regularly photograph sessions throughout Annapolis, Crofton, Edgewater, Millersville, and surrounding communities.

This page highlights photography locations I regularly use and confidently recommend to clients, along with practical details you’ll want to know when booking, including permits, fees, parking, crowd levels, and lighting considerations.

Bonus: Your Home, Neighborhood, or a Meaningful Local Spot

Some of my favorite sessions take place in locations that are deeply personal—your home, a neighborhood park, a family beach, or a place tied to your story. These sessions often result in the most meaningful images.

When considering a personal location, we’ll talk ahead of time about:

  • Light at different times of day
  • Privacy and crowd levels
  • Whether a photography permit is required

I love discovering new locations and helping families create images that feel authentic and meaningful. I’ll guide you toward the setting that fits your family beautifully, taking care of permits and details so your experience feels easy from start to finish.

Let's plan your session.

Whether you already have a location in mind or would like help choosing the perfect spot, I’d love to hear more about your family and what you’re envisioning. Fill out the form below and we’ll take it from there.
